Support is very key: Oluwatosin advises couples.

One of the things I have learned in marriage is that support is very very key.

Understanding your spouse, supporting them through good and hard times is one of the key factors that lay the foundation of a good home with good spouses.

You cannot be married to someone who you know their capacity, yet over push them or overwork them to deliver for the home.

Don’t push a frail woman to go and start selling pure water by the roadside under the hot sun when you have a very good job that can sustain the family for the main time till she finds her feet.

Don’t push a man to go and pick up odd and hard jobs when you know his capacity just to please you, whereas you can support and stand in gap till he finds his feet.

Why don’t you encourage and support your spouse to do the real thing they want to do, which can even generate more funds at the end of the day rather than hustling just to prove a point to you?

Do we just want our spouses to work and bring the money home while they lose their joy gradually?

Let the spouse who wants to HUSTLE to support his or her family in their downtime do so out of their own 100% desire.

Don’t be the person hounding and screaming over a drowning or depressed spouse to go and HUSTLE.

This is not about lazy spouses please, one thing I have learned in marriage is that sometimes your spouse can pull up a bold face to do something they have no capacity for, just to please you and be seen as up and doing, be discerning at that point and discourage them from doing that, while you encourage them to do what you know they have the capacity for, and what they want to do ( emphasis on responsible spouses pls)

Some people have pushed their spouses to criminal and death traps just in a bid to make them over-deliver.

Let’s be discerning and supportive of our spouses, most especially the good ones God has blessed us with.

Don’t allow the rat race out there make you overwork your spouse or push them to desperation.

It is often a phase, most of the downtimes we experience in marriage.

And I am here to tell you boldly that how you treat a spouse who is finding their feet at their downtimes is you setting your record and future with such a spouse.

Whatever you might be experiencing, I know it can be frustrating sometimes, but with faith, support, love, and encouragement you shall overcome.

What the Lord cannot do does not exist, please believe this.
