When someone says I am intimidating, I ask them if they are intimidated instead.
I will never accept responsibility for your weakness.
I am not intimidating.
You are simply intimidated and I can’t help it.
Or when they say I am arrogant.
I know they are bullies who want people to cower and tremble at their voice(s).
Unfortunately, I don’t cower for anyone.
I don’t shrink for you to stand.
So I can’t be responsible for how you perceive me.
Not everyone gets the same version of me.
One person might tell you I’m an amazing beautiful soul.
Another person will say I’m a cold-hearted, snobbish asshole.
Believe them both, I act accordingly
I am a strong woman. I don’t have attitude. I have standards.
If I had been quiet when I had opinions, how would people know who I am?
The reason they knew who I was is because I told them.
Don’t allow people to unburden their weaknesses on you and hold you responsible for their own shortcomings.
If you are intimidated by a young woman’s resolve to be unflinching then, you need to get a grip on yourself.
